CareSource Receives National Healthcare Leadership Award
DAYTON, Ohio, July 9, 2008 – CareSource has been named the recipient of the Top Leadership Team in Healthcare award for 2008. The national award is presented annually by HealthLeaders Media, a leading healthcare industry publisher.
“CareSource has convincingly demonstrated that public sector health plan management can be provided within a cost effective, quality driven environment,” said Top Leadership Teams judge Jeffrey A. Kramer, Director of the Center for Healthcare and Insurance Studies at the University of Connecticut. “Members of their talented senior leadership team have been able to successfully integrate sound financial management, information technology, and selective provider networks into a system of care that is both comprehensive and accessible. This health plan serves as an exemplary role model for health plans providing services within the challenging public sector setting.”
CareSource manages public sector healthcare plans for approximately 660,000 members in Ohio and Michigan. The non-profit organization is the fourth largest Medicaid HMO in the United States and the largest in Ohio.
“Receiving this recognition is testimony not only to CareSource’s leadership team, but also to the efforts of our dedicated employees, their innovative thinking, and a genuine concern for our members who have always been our inspiration,” said Pamela Morris, President and CEO.
The HealthLeaders Media Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare 2008 program is sponsored by Cejka Search, CIT, HealthGrades and Pershing Yoakley & Associates. The program is designed to celebrate the outstanding teamwork that occurs in healthcare organizations each day, to share what makes top leadership teams successful, and to encourage other healthcare leaders to learn more from the best practices of top leadership teams.
CareSource will be honored at the annual Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare Conference and Awards in Chicago in October.
