CareSource Special Needs Plan Offered in 17 Counties

, March 4, 2008 -- CareSource has enrolled its first members into its new Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan, CareSource Advantage.
Through a contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), CareSource Advantage focuses on the unique healthcare needs of Medicare beneficiaries who are also eligible for Medicaid.
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, there are approximately 176,000 people who are full dual eligibles living in Ohio. The CareSource Advantage plan is currently available in 17 counties including: Butler, Cuyahoga, Delaware, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Lorain, Lucas,
Madison, Mahoning, Medina, Montgomery, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Warren, and Wood. CareSource has expanded its network of providers and community partner organizations throughout the entire state of Ohio.
CareSource Advantage will provide all the benefits of Medicaid and Medicare, including Part D drug coverage, plus more. Some of the extra benefits included in the CareSource Advantage Plan are:
· Choice of physicians and other healthcare providers
· Prescription drug coverage under Medicare Part D
· Case Managers
· Transportation assistance to and from appointments
· Preventive screenings
· Health education and coaching
