Nurse triage service earns URAC accreditation

DAYTON, Ohio, Feb. 7, 2006 – CareSource Management Group (CSMG), a leading Medicaid managed care services company based in Dayton, Ohio, is pleased to announce that its 24-hour nurse triage service has earned health call center accreditation from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.
URAC’s health call center standards apply to organizations that provide triage and health information services over the telephone. The standards ensure that the clinical aspects of these services are performed in a manner that is timely, confidential, and includes medically appropriate care and treatment advice.
URAC has also granted health plan accreditation to two Medicaid managed care plans serviced by CareSource Management Group -- CareSource, Ohio’s largest Medicaid managed care plan with more than 404,000 members, and Community Choice Michigan, a non-profit Medicaid managed care plan with more than 48,000 members.
URAC’s health plan standards offer a comprehensive assessment of performance. Standards include key quality benchmarks for network management, provider credentialing, utilization management, quality improvement and consumer protection.
