CareSource wins United Way Pinnacle award
DAYTON, Ohio, March 1, 2004 – CareSource, Ohio’s largest Medicaid managed health-care plan, is pleased to announce that it has won this year’s Pinnacle Award from the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area.
The Pinnacle Award is “the highest honor to be presented to organizations that best exemplify the vision of the United Way through their spirit, involvement and leadership during the campaign,” said Susy Himelhoch, United Way campaign manager who nominated CareSource for the award. Eligibility is reserved for organizations that contribute at least $10,000.
CareSource gave a total of $36,699 to the United Way in 2003, with $10,500 from corporate gifts, $24,626 from the employee campaign, and $1,573 from special events held Sept. 29 through Oct. 3. Of particular note among these fund-raisers was the employee campaign, which almost doubled the amount raised in 2002.
“I am thrilled that CareSource was able to contribute so much to this important community agency,” said President and CEO Pamela Morris. “My thanks and appreciation go to the wonderful employees who organized the events, and to everyone who donated.”
The Pinnacle Award is the most prestigious of eight awards the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area gives to donor organizations each year. CareSource will formally receive its award at the United Way’s annual Awards Recognition Luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 26, at the David C. Ponitz Center at Sinclair Community College in Dayton.
